Yesterday, Ducati unveiled the SuperSport model for 2022, giving it new Panigale V4-style styling and a six-axle IMU, as well as upgrading emissions to Euro 5 standards. For the SuperSport 950, the exterior features a new fairing design with g-shaped openings on both sides to help vent the air, as well as a red grille. The bottom of the fairing was extended to cover most of the exhaust.
The front end has also been changed, with the return of the previously abandoned LED daytime running lights, and the newly designed headlights now follow their V-shaped curve, making them look more like a “unibrow” than before. The headlight is surrounded by new air intakes that funnel air into the fairing and exhaust it to the rider’s legs at the vents to change the awkward “toasted legs”.
The new 4.3-inch full-color TFT display has a more technological feel, similar to the current Panigale series. the SuperSport 950 is equipped with a six-axis IMU electronics package, including Bosch cornering ABS, and gets an upgraded EVO version of Ducati traction control, wheel control and quick shift. Three driving modes are also available: Sport, Cruise and City.
The engine is still the 937cc displacement, Ducati Testastretta 11° V-Twin, only with the latest Euro 5 emissions. Braking, with 320mm dual front discs + Brembo M4-32 radial four-piston calipers, is standard on both SuperSport 950 models, as is the rear 245mm single disc + dual-piston caliper. In addition to cornering ABS, the braking system is equipped with an automatic exhaust radial pump that matches the hydraulic system of the clutch lever.
