Step 1
To begin this manual on how to draw a banner, we’ll start with the main ‘body’ of the banner. This should be one of the most accessible parts of this drawing since all you need to do is draw something wavy. Lines. They will curve slightly below at both ends, as these will lead to the banner folds that we choice draws in later steps. Once you’ve drawn these lines, you can move on to the next step!
Step 2
Now that you have the body of your banner drawn, you can start folding the sides for this part of your banner drawing. To start, we’ll add some little curved vertical lines to the flanks of the banner. These will curve inwards and give the body of the banner a solid shape. Once you’ve drawn those lines, we’ll add some rounded shapes below the ends of the banner. These can be drawn with curved and rounded lines, making it look like the banner is fanning at both ends. Do your best to replicate these shapes as they appear in the reference image, and then we’ll proceed to step 3 of the guide.
Step 3
For this part of our guide on how to draw a banner, we’ll continue drawing the banner’s unfolding effect. For now, we’ll focus on the left side, and you can start by drawing two wavy lines coming off the vertical edge on that side. They will then spread out into more inverted vertical lines, and at the bottom, you can draw a winding spiral line to show where the banner is still rolle. This will make it dart like this banner is made of parchment or paper. If any of this sounds confusing, keep a close eye on the reference image and this step to ensure you don’t get lost.
Step 4
Step 4 of his banner drawing will see him mirroring precisely what he did in the previous step. Using the same curved lines, he can draw the unfurling banner in the same way as before, and then he can finish with another spiral. a line at the bottom of the shape. Step 5

Step 6
This final step of drawing your banner is where you can spend it with unique colors! We used hues of brown for our example photo, as this gives the banner an old parchment look. However, there are also many colors you can choose from! Use a similar method, or go bright and fierce with your colored pens or paints. This step is entirely up to you and your creativity.
