Joining an Environmental Protection Club on Columbia University

Posted by

Taking part in a club that focuses on environmental protection is a great way to get involved in the community and to become more aware of issues that need to be addressed. Aside from that, joining an environmental protection club will help you meet people who are passionate about saving the planet.

CESJDS students have recently gotten into the green act. They have been responsible for saving thousands of plastic water bottles from the landfill by installing automatic water bottle filling stations. They have also helped the planet by turning off the lights in the classroom and making a splash on the green front with their eco-friendly green carpet cleaning service.

One of the more impressive feats of physics was to demonstrate that by replacing all of the lights on the campus with LED bulbs, JDS saved more than $30,000. Another was the obvious of demonstrating the best ways to reduce waste. The best part of all was the ensuing buzz on campus.
