The SSC (Staff Selection Commission) conducts the CGL ( Combined Graduate Level )exam for hiring candidates for different vacancies in the various departments and organisations of the Government of India. There are three stages in the SSC CGL exam, including Tier – 1, Tier – 2, and Tier – 3, and candidates must get through each step to move ahead in the selection process. 

SSC CGL: Notification

 The SSC releases the official notification for the CGL exam, and according to the latest information, the online application for 2022 began on 23rd December 2021 and ended a month later, on 23rd January 2022. The SSC extended the deadline for fee payment by two days to 25th January 2022, if paid online, and by three days, to 26th January 2022, if paid through challan.

Applicants were also given enough time to verify and correct the information they provided from 28th January 2022 to 1st February 2022. 

SSC CGL: Application Form 

Applying for the SSC CGL exam requires filling out an online form with the relevant details and paying a fee of Rs. 100. The SSC waives this application fee for certain groups, including SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-Service personnel.

You can follow these steps to access the application form.

  1. Visit the official website – ssc.nic.in and click on the link, SSC CGL.
  2. Provide all the details asked for, such as name, date of birth, email, and phone number and click ‘Submit’ after verifying them. Your application will then be on its way.
  3. The next step is document upload, where you must upload a digital copy of your photographs and signature. There are specific requirements here. So, read the instructions carefully before uploading.
  • The photographs must have a white or light-colored background and be in the jpg format. Also, their sizes must lie between 4 kb and 12 kb, and the image resolution should be 40 * 60 pixels.
  • The signature must be blue or black ink between 1 kb and 12 kb. The resolution must be 40 * 60 pixels.
  1. After uploading these documents, you can log in with the ID and password received on your registered email and complete the process.
  2. Once you complete the application and verify the details entered, you can pay the fee required.

You should get a confirmation on your registered email address and an acknowledgment for the transaction. You can download this acknowledgment and save it securely.

Remember that you must meet the minimum eligibility requirements depending on age, nationality, citizenship, and education.

Pay attention to the photographs and signatures you upload – particularly their sizes. Your application may be rejected if the documents uploaded don’t meet the minimum specifications.
